Recipe Of Macaroni And Cheese

With only five ingredients, you can prepare this utterly delicious macaroni. The combination of evaporated milk and cheddar gives the dish an alluring touch.

Preparation time – 10 minutes

Cooking time – 15 minutes


  • Elbow macaroni – 1 pound
  • Salt – to taste
  • Evaporated milk – 12 ounces
  • Unsalted butter – 3 tbsp
  • Cheddar – 3 cups, shredded

How To Make

  • Take a large pot and add 4 cups of water to it. Add the salt and put it on medium flame. Add the macaroni and cook it following the instructions written on the packet.
  • When done, remove the excess water and put the macaroni aside.
  • Mix the evaporated milk with the cooked macaroni. Add the shredded cheddar gradually and keep mixing. When all the cheese is dissolved, serve it immediately. It tastes excellent when warm.

Alternative Macaroni And Cheese Recipe

Preparation time – 15 minutes

Cooking time – 45 minutes


  • Elbow macaroni – 10 ounces, medium size
  • Unsalted butter – 3 tbsp
  • White flour – 2 tbsp, unbleached*
  • Low-fat milk – 2 ½ cups
  • Cheddar – 2 ¼ cups, extra sharp variety and shredded

How To Make

  • Preheat the oven at 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Put a pot of water along with some salt on medium heat. As the water starts to boil, add the macaroni and cook it following the instructions.
  • Add 2 tbsp of butter to a saucepan and put it on medium heat. As the butter melts, add the flour and fry it till you get a pleasant aroma. Add the milk and continuously stir so that no lumps occur.
  • Remove the pan from the flame and mix the cheese, keeping some aside for later use. Sprinkle salt and black pepper as per taste and mix them properly.
  • Mix the white sauce with the cooked macaroni. Take a baking pan of 9*13 inches and grease it thoroughly with the leftover butter. When done, transfer the macaroni with white sauce to it.
  • Add the leftover cheese on the top and insert the baking pan within the oven. Let it bake for about 40 minutes. When the top layer will be crisp and have a beautiful brown color, take it out.
  • Give it a resting time of 10 minutes. After that, cut it and serve.

Tips: If you want to make extra delicious, you can add some bread crumbs or chopped green onions on the top. The taste will make you crave for more.
